Sailing

The wide stretch of the Delaware River around New Castle is ideal for day sailing. Cruising up river gives a memorable view of this picturesque colonial town and of the twin spans of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Sailing down to Pea Patch Island or across to the New Jersey shore for a picnic makes an enjoyable morning or afternoon. Outside of the shipping channel, club sailors will find very little competing boat traffic.
