Club Race Series
Spring, Summer and Fall Series

There is a saying that whenever you have more that one sailboat on the water, it is a race. So it goes with the NCSC. The racing program was born with the purchase of the second Thistle in 1954. The club racing program expanded over the years, and it is currently organized as three separate series of 5 races each. Trophies are awarded to the top three finishers in each series.  Participants must skipper in as many races as there are racing days in each series to be eligible for a trophy. The total score for the season is used to determine the club champion, whose name is engraved on a perpetual trophy, and who is awarded use of the coveted “NCSC 1” Delaware license plate for the year.  Races are held on Saturday mornings (afternoons in August), and are open to all club members and guests. Skippers must be ‘keyed’ members, but anyone is permitted to crew.
