Charity Regatta
The NCSC first held a Charity regatta in 1987 as a benefit to raise funds to fight multiple sclerosis. In 1989, Frank Nelson organized the first annual March of Dimes Regatta, held on June 24th of that year, and led this event from that time until he handed over the reigns in 2004. The Charity Regatta is an invitational open to all centerboard boats 22-ft. and under, and is scored using the Portsmouth handicap ratings. A barbecue dinner and silent auction to benefit the local chapter of the March of Dimes follows the racing. The Charity Regatta is the sailing club’s main charity event of the year.

This year's Charity Regatta will be held Saturday, July 25th, with the skippers meeting at 10AM, and will be the inaugural "Frank E. Nelson Memorial Charity Regatta" to honor the memory of Frank Nelson, who organized this event for many years. See flier for more information.
If you are interested participating or being a sponsor this year, please see our other Charity Regatta links on the left or contact: Kathy Leef, Vice Commodore and Chair, at (302) 368-3138.
Your generous donations and participation will help the March of Dimes and their researchers in their mission to find a cure for prematurity and birth defects.
