Boat Captain's Race
The NCSC holds its annual Boat Captain’s Race on the first Saturday after the Club’s boats are launched. Howard Kingshill, a longtime NCSC member and avid racer, began the tradition in 1975. The boats are skippered by the Boat Captains and crewed by the members of each boat crew, who have worked long and hard through the spring season to ready their boats for launch. This regatta serves as a “shake-down cruise” to make sure all the rigging is properly installed and ready for the upcoming season, and it is a fun way to kick off the sailing season.
